A few years ago (when my children still liked dressing up as tigers – now it’s Minecraft, minecraft, minecraft) I started to write a book about the 5:2 diet.

Now back in those days the 5:2 diet was brand new and there were literally no books about it. But people were fascinated by the diet that promised weight-loss for only 2 diet days a week.

I’ll level with you. That book was terrible.

The advice was muddled. The recipes were unreadable.

I didn’t give up. I’m far too stubborn.

The next year I released a totally new recipe book for the 5:2 diet. This time I used an entirely different approach. The polar opposite, in fact.

This time, I put my heart and soul into the book. I created and tested some really great recipes. And I told people the simple rules they needed to follow. I didn’t write a ‘sciencey’ book, with lots of facts and figures that no-one wanted to read. Instead it was simple advice that I knew worked. By that stage I’d lost over a stone on the 5:2 diet and I was looking and feeling fabulous.

Over the last few years, I’ve published seven books on diet and healthy eating. And I’ve developed a style of recipes that people absolutely love.
